Description

The UL2464 Testing & Production Equipment Communication Cable is the workhorse data cable for any factory floor, test lab, or production line that needs reliable multi-conductor signal links between cabinets, instruments, and controllers. UL2464 is the UL-recognized internal-wiring style — tinned copper conductors, PVC insulation, gray PVC outer jacket, 300V at 80 °C, VW-1 flame retardant. The shielded variants add an aluminum-foil + tinned-copper braid shield with a drain wire, giving the cable the EMI immunity needed for clean signaling in noisy industrial environments full of motor drives, switching power supplies, and RF sources.

Two builds ship as standard: 5×24AWG (5×0.3 mm²) and 8×24AWG (8×0.3 mm²), both shielded and gray-jacketed. Beyond standard, we build 2 to 25 conductors in 28AWG, 26AWG, 24AWG, 22AWG, and 20AWG gauges. Termination is the industry-favorite D-Sub (DB) family — DB9, DB15, DB25, DB37, DB50, and high-density variants HD15 / HD26 / HD44 / HD62 — in both male and female with gold-plated contacts, copper welded (solder-cup) joints for low contact resistance, metal shells with EMI-grounding teeth, and thumbscrew or jackscrew locking. P1 / J100 cable identification labels are applied per drawing for traceability.

Every finished assembly passes 100% continuity test, insulation resistance (≥ 100 MΩ at 500 VDC), pin-to-shell isolation, and a 500 VAC / 60-second hi-pot withstand check. Shielding continuity is verified end-to-end with a milliohm meter. Soldered D-Sub joints are pull-tested per IPC/WHMA-A-620. Materials are RoHS and REACH compliant. Custom lengths from 100 mm to 30 m, custom pin assignments (straight-through, crossover, custom map), and overmolded strain-relief boots are all available. SGS pre-shipment inspection on request — MOQ from 10 pcs, sample lead time 7–10 days.
