The Flat Elevator Travelling Cable is the workhorse cable that follows the car as it moves up and down the shaft, carrying control signals, intercom audio, door operator power, lighting, fan, alarm circuits, CCTV feeds, and emergency communication links between the fixed building-side junction box and the moving cab. Flat ribbon geometry is the industry standard here — it lays neatly in the festoon loop or self-supporting hanger, predicts its own bend radius, and avoids the corkscrewing failures that round multi-cores suffer after a million flex cycles. The same construction serves overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, telescopic gates, hoists, and stage lifts.
Standard build is 12 cores, 1.0 mm² each, pure copper stranded with PVC insulation in standard colour-code and a tough PE (polyethylene) outer jacket. Rated 300/500V with an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +105 °C — wide enough to handle unheated industrial shafts in winter and tropical machine-room heat in summer. The jacket compound is formulated for the five hazards that kill elevator cables: cold (no embrittlement to -40 °C), oil (machine-room hydraulic and lubricating oils), water (splash and condensation), wear (millions of bend cycles in the festoon trolley), and fire (flame retardant — self-extinguishing per European standard).
Custom core counts (4, 6, 8, 10, 16, 20, 24) and conductor sizes (0.5 mm² to 4 mm²) are available. Standard termination is green Phoenix-style screw terminal blocks on both ends — the de-facto interface for elevator controllers and industrial control cabinets — and we also pre-terminate with ring lugs (M3 to M8), spade terminals, or pin/socket headers per drawing. Every length passes 100% continuity, insulation resistance (≥ 100 MΩ at 500 VDC), and conductor pull-test checks. CE certified, 3C rated, RoHS & REACH compliant — ready for European, North American, and APAC export markets.
